Many parents ask this question. “Why should my child play sports?” And “If I allow my child to play, what sports should they play?”
Because I am biased in one direction, I will give all the reasons why your child should play sports and none of the reason they shouldn’t. My opinion is that there aren’t enough reasons for kids not to play sports.
These are just a few of the reasons I could think of for encouraging participation in sports.
1. Participating children will be more likely to take part in other activities and have less time for idleness.
There will be lots of practice when children join any type of sport team. Children will often make friends with other children who want to improve in the sport they are playing so that they have something to do together.
In this age and time, idle time with our children is not something we should encourage. There are many places in the country that have access to drugs, which can spark the curiosity of bored and experimental teens. The internet can make it easy to become curious about pornography or other www gabungsbo com time-consuming activities. Video games can be addictive and can lead to the search for alternative realities due to the fantasical ideals that many games offer.
2. Sport is a great way to help your child build self-esteem.
Children have a strong need to belong to something. A sports team can replace the need to belong that many children get involved in gangs. They will feel safe and connected outside of their home, which will help them to build a sense family.
Sports-related kids will have someone to talk to, walk the streets with, or eat lunch with at school.
Children will gain confidence as they begin to do sports tasks. As they practice more, they will find that they can accomplish more than they thought possible. They will be prepared for the challenges of life, as well as those presented by family, work, and community.
3. Sport is a natural way to help kids relieve stress and prevent depression.
The sense of belonging can reduce the amount of time teenagers spend idly. It also helps them to become less stressed, self-absorbed, and able to focus on the good in the world around them.
Focusing on your team is a great way to combat self-deprecating. Children will hear cliches such as TEAM= Together Everybody Achieves more and realize that, as absurd as it may sound, it is actually true. Children can learn to focus on others and serve others in order to be happy.
4. Sporty kids are more likely than others to succeed in school.
Sports will teach children how to set goals and work towards achieving them. They will learn that they must be dedicated to achieve what they want, and that no one can do it for you.
Sport can provide many benefits for kids who are active. Their bodies will benefit from the physical effort they put in, as well as their mental health.
5. Children who are active in sports will be healthier.
The US is rife with obesity. People are becoming increasingly lazy, and the culture of “instant gratification,” which we have created, encourages people to buy fast food rather than making their own meals.
Children who are active and play sports will find that they feel happier when their bodies are healthy. As they strive to achieve their best athletic ability, they will learn that good nutrition is just as important as exercising.
Athletic kids are more likely to choose a spouse who is also interested in health and fitness. The best way to solve a national problem is to show the next generation how to do things better, and to immerse them into a new lifestyle. We have been slowly deteriorating with each new generation for too long.
6. Sports teach kids teamwork.
This skill can prove to be very valuable in your life. Children will benefit from learning how to work in a team when they are looking for employment. Employers love to hire athletes for their ability to work in a team and contribute to the company. Dedication is a sign of great accomplishment in athletics. Academic All Conference was one of my greatest accomplishments as an athlete. This proves that student athletes can manage multiple tasks and prioritize their time.
7. Sporting activities will teach discipline to children.
Discipline is an important aspect of sports. It is important to learn early how to be focused on details and plan your game. Student athletes need to be more disciplined than normal students as they often lose time and even days that could have been spent on homework. It is important to weigh the temptation to party and go out against the time required to complete schoolwork. Children will be rewarded if they can practice discipline and remain focused on achieving their goals.
8. Sport helps children overcome obstacles.
There are many disappointments in life. There is no silver platter that will give you everything you need. Every person in life will experience failure. Sports teach children to accept failures and to learn from them so that they can apply the lessons to their future endeavours.
They discover that failures are more valuable than successes and that it is only when you give up on your dreams that you fail. You will still be working towards your goal if you do not.
